The WHO Collaborating Centre for Pharmaceutical Pricing and Reimbursement Policies, located at Gesundheit Österreich GmbH (GÖG/Austrian National Public Health Institute) in Vienna is pleased to offer the third online Summer School on Pharmaceutical Pricing and Reimbursement Policies.
When? 17 - 20 July 2023 (online)
Who should attend?
The summer school is targeted at:
- Representatives of competent authorities in the field of pricing and reimbursement of medicines (policy-makers, technical staff), and
- Payers in the health care system (e.g. health insurance institutions / sickness funds, ministries, medicines agencies, private health insurance institutions).
Newcomers in this field and/or experienced professionals who would like to deepen and share their knowledge are welcome to apply. Participants from all over the globe are accepted. The Summer School accepts a maximum of 30 participants. If justified by a strong motivation letter and supported by early registration, the organisers may also accept
- Researchers involved in policy-advice for public institutions,
- Students with strong public health interest.

Learning objectives
- Understand basic concepts, frameworks and taxonomies such as Universal Health Coverage, access to essential medicines, transparency and the pharmaceutical value chain
- Learn about the aims and implications of different pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement policies
- Learn to understand the differences in the methodological design of a policy
- Be provided with a toolbox of policies and gain capacity to adapt policies to changing environments
- Get to know up-to-date scientific evidence and learn from experiences of other countries
