Katharina Kieslich joined the Department of Pharmacoeconomics in August 2024. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University College London (UCL). Before joining the Department, Katharina gained extensive research and teaching experience working as a Research Fellow at UCL, King’s College London and, mostly recently, at the University of Vienna. Her expertise includes comparative studies of HTA systems, questions of affordability of high-priced pharmaceuticals, as well as patient and public involvement in health policy. In her position at King’s College London, she co-led a public health research and capacity building programme for public health registrars. Katharina has a track record of publishing scientific research in high impact journals. Prior to embarking on her academic career, she was a parliamentary researcher and speech writer in health, social, and labour policy for a political party in Bremen, Germany.
