Mag. (FH) Friederike Windisch graduated from the University of Applied Management Sciences Krems, Austria, where she studied Health Management with focus on Pharmaceutical Management, Hospital Management and Insurance Management, and she is currently working on her PhD at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, Austria, on pricing and reimbursement of medical devices. She also obtained a degree in Nutrition Science and worked for a Viennese hospital. 

Since 2004, Ms Windisch has been working for the Austrian National Public Health Institute where she is involved in surveying and comparing price information of pharmaceuticals in the European Union. She is project manager of the Austrian Medical Devices Register (www.medizinprodukteregister.at) and of two EU4Health projects on medical devices (Study supporting the monitoring of availability of medical devices on the EU market, Study on the implementation of Article 17 of Regulation (EU) 2017/745 on medical devices on the EU market).

Ms Windisch also manages the Pharmaceutical Pricing and Reimbursement Information (PPRI) subgroup on medical devices, which is an international network of competent authorities for medical devices to exchange information on pricing and reimbursement policies and to increase transparency in this field.
