Dipl. Volkswirt Manuel Alexander Haasis, MSc joined the Pharmacoeconomics Department at the Austrian National Public Health Institute as a researcher in 2017. He obtained a master's degree in Economics at the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, Germany, and a master’s degree in Health Policy, Planning and Financing from the London School of Economics and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK. Before joining the team, he was based in the Philippines where he worked for UNICEF on health financing strategies and universal health coverage, providing strategic guidance to the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation. He has also worked for UNAIDS on costing of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs, and for the Department of Health (Philippines) on price regulation of essential medicines and economic evaluations of vaccines.
