The Austrian National Public Health Institute (Gesundheit Österreich GmbH, GÖG) is the institution responsible for researching and planning public healthcare in Austria, and also acts as the national competence and funding centre for the promotion of health. The GÖG Department of Pharmacoeconomics (a WHO Collaborating Centre for PharmaceuticalPricing and Reimbursement Policies) focuses on various aspects of pharmaceutical policy, including price regulation, reimbursement and procurement of pharmaceuticals. The Department supports decision-makers in their efforts to ensure affordable access to quality medicines for patients through research, data provision, policy advice, capacity building and networking activities.
We are looking for a committed Health Expert to work 40 hours per week with immediate effect.
Your tasks:
- Participating in and coordinating national and international projects on pharmaceutical (price) policy
- Conceptualising, managing and implementing international comparative studies and evaluations of policy measures, preparing study reports and publications
- Policy advice for national authorities in Austria and Europe
- Coordinating and further developing the content and organisation of an international network of authorities
- Planning, implementing, leading and participating in national and international project meetings and meetings with authorities
- (Further) developing and implementing training and capacity-building activities for authorities relating to pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement
Your profile:
- University degree in a relevant field (e.g. social and economic sciences or public health)
- Several years of relevant professional experience working independently on research projects and/or policy advice
- In-depth methodological knowledge of empirical social research (quantitative/qualitative)
- Knowledge of the mechanisms of pharmaceutical policy, in particular on financing, medicine prices and procurement, is desirable
- Knowledge of health systems and pharmaceutical systems in Europe (knowledge of the Austrian health system is desirable)
- Interest in and experience in the preparation of research findings in various formats, scientific publications
- Experience in presenting and chairing large meetings
- Excellent written and spoken German and English (further language skills desirable)
- Professional appearance, strong communication skills and social and intercultural competences
- Systematic and meticulous working style
- Sense of responsibility, flexibility and reliability
What we offer:
We offer attractive working conditions with flexible working hours for this full-time position. The salary will be based on the GÖG collective labour agreement, with a gross monthly salary of 5,200 Euros for this position. An overpayment is possible depending on your qualifi cations and previous employment history.
